There are a handful of teams whose live racers have risen to a level of stardom that rivals or even outpaces their mascots. The Presidents in DC, Pierogies in Pittsburgh, Sausages in Milwaukee, Hot Dogs in Cleveland and perhaps the Sushi in Vancouver.
The Canadians Live Race is popular enough that one of the team’s giveaway items is based on the Chef Wasabi character were given out to the first 1000 kids and by all accounts were a big hit.
