New Year’s Eve games can become an event or even a city-wide tradition. Here are three teams who ringing in 2023 with Hockey and a post-game celebration.
First the Cincinnati Cyclones drop the puck at 6pm. Fans are encouraged to stay for indoor fireworks post-game.

On the West Coast the Portland Winterhawks party with fans with a post-game skate.
The Winterhawks will ring in 2023 hosting Portland’s biggest New Year’s Eve party with their annual tilt against the Everett Silvertips on Dec. 31 including a postgame skate with the players on the VMC ice and a balloon drop to celebrate the turn of the calendar. Some balloons will also have cash prizes inside.
Celebrate the turn of the calendar with us, then head across the Rose Quarter to Brandi Carlile’s NYE Party at the Moda Center or go home to continue the party with your loved ones as midnight hits Portland.

Finally the Grand Rapids Griffins have turned NYE into an annual event. This year they host their 25th New Year’s Eve with fans.
The host the Milwaukee Admirals then set off West Michigan’s largest indoor fireworks show following the game. If that isn’t enough they also open the ice for a fan postgame open skate.
The tradition is so important to the team, they even found a way to keep it alive during the pandemic.
