Sábado Gigante in Milwaukee

Milwaukee Admirals will commemorate the Day of the Dead with a Sábado Gigante.

As reported first by SportsLogos.net the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals will commemorate the Day of the Dead as a promotion called Noche de Los Almirantes (Night of the Admirals).  The team will present custom jerseys with Sugar Skulls associated with the Mexican Holiday, in a style reminiscent of traditional Zapotec Mexican rugs.

Sugar skulls (calaveras) are decorated as part of offerings to the souls of the departed. They are typically made of sugar and edible.

This affiliate team of the Nashville Predators will wear the jerseys for their Night with the Admirals promotions on November 2, the third of the Day of the Dead’s traditional three nights.

The promotion will also include:

  • Sugar Skull Face Painters
  • Authentic Cultural Dancers
  • Spanish Speaking in-game host, and more.

In addition the team is currently working to add a market where local makers can sell their work as well as taco trucks outside.
