The NHL is doing their mascots big each year at their annual All-Star Weekend. While some leagues limit these performers to meet-and-greets, sideline waving and shirt tosses the NHL has a slew of mascot appearances and time for the mascots to really shine. They even roll out a 15 min hockey game with all the mascots skating and playing, which is fantastic.
I love the benches with various critters eagerly awaiting their line changes and the clear (and funny) issues most mascots have looking down. Also I always enjoy watching Satan skate.
