The SPHL Marksmen aren’t on the ice, but they hit their fans with a big opening night virtually. This evening of engagement was so big that we have dedicated more than one water cooler post to it…which is among the highest compliments available (virtually).
Yesterday we looked at their form asking fans for photos and videos, which were integrated into their game night posts. For example fans at home were asked to submit photos of Military members for their Salute to Service, and the team wove those photos into the online video.
The included in-game staples like introductions, a jersey raffle, dance cams, service salutes, sponsor thanks, year-in-review videos, a push to sell tickets to opening night in 2021 and stick taps to their fans for their support. Plus ceremonial puck drop, player thank you messages to fans, Dance Cam, Pet Cam, Simba Cam and a performance from their dance team.
Today we just add two more of the presented tweets to showcase how the Marksmen connected with fans on the December 31st online opener. They opened with the National Anthem and included a special edition of their Beer Can Race (both below).
Stay tuned….there is even more coming tomorrow.
Before the festivities begin tonight, please rise – gentlemen, remove your caps – for the playing of the National Anthem (pres. by @Vets_Guardian).
