Lifetime Contract for Fans

On site report from a correspondent who lost out on a souvenir ball and a well-paying employment opportunity.

I was on-hand for the Cedar Rapids Kernels game recently and noted this fun foul ball sponsor addition.

Fans who catch a foul ball at the game are also given a “lifetime contract” to the team and their compensation includes a free ice cream from HyVee.

When I was a kid catching a foul ball would have been a memory that lasted a lifetime. This just shows that baseball just keeps getting better.

Side note from the game: I came as close as ever to catching a foul ball when one hit the press box and dropped right next to me.  My reflexes aren’t what they once were….I missed out on the ball, the contract and the ice cream.
