The Reading Royals are breaking their fans apart with Wizards Night.
To mimic the classic Harry Potter story the team has created a House Cup competition.
Players will be separated into four houses, each with their own Head of House. The House will receive points based on key events during the game like goals and assists. The House with the most points will become House Cup Champion.
Its an engaging way to get fans into the action and pitting them against each other.
I recently attended a Toledo Walleye game where the team did this and had a lot of fan interaction challenging the house to see who could be the loudest and show the most support. It’s a clear call to action and family-night audience really responded.
The Royals also have a big costume contest on the night, asking fans to dress like their favorite magical character.
