Dust off the Whale Suit!

That bunch of jerks in Carolina dust off their old whale costume to make throwback night even more throwbacky.

Fun new trend with throwback nights…bringing back the old mascots.

Here the Carolina Hurricanes (formerly the Hartford Whalers) rock the retro look sweaters and are joined on the ice by the Whale mascot Pucky.

Pucky the Whale was the mascot of the Hartford Whalers. He was revived with the Connecticut Whale in 2010 and was retired when the team reverted to the Hartford Wolf Pack identity in May 2013. He was a green biped whale who wore a whalers jersey with a picture of himself on the front.

Wonder if Pucky thought these guys were a bunch of Jerks too.

The Cleveland Cavalier also trotted out their one-time mascot Whammer this for year for their throwback era nights to celebrate the team’s 50th anniversary.
