This in an email from Kevin E.

phone.gifI recently tried to contact “ Claude, The Happy Trumpeter” at (the number listed on Gameops.com) and this is apparently the wrong number for this performer. Can you please provide the correct contact information for this performer? On behalf of the individual who has that phone number, I’m sure he would greatly appreciate it that you remove the number you have listed.

Can anyone share the conrrect number for Claude?  I will update that right away on the Gameops.com Act Listings.

Thanks!

Post Script:  Thanks to Tim in Milwaukee for helping out.  The correct number is 418-871-3502.  Find act contact numbers at the Gameops.com Act White Pages.

We just added another set of promotions to the Promotions Database, including one about a newproduct called Mugheads.

As I did a little research on the product I found an example of the “oops” giveaway:

phi_n.gifSaturday, April 14 Sixers vs Orlando. The first 5,000 fans to enter the Wachovia Center will receive a Chris Webber Mughead

That promotion has been removed from the Sixers Promotional schedule…no word on the current whereabouts of the 5,000 Chris Webber faced mugs.

oscommerce.gifOur February update is posted including the interview with Krazy George and a new Premium Spotlight on Megaphones, including a new Gameops.com mascot bonus exlcusive.

The feedback for the Promotion Database has been outstanding, and we have spent more time this month adding new promotions, bringing the total to 567 in the database.  If you haven’t checked it out, take a look and start gathering ideas for your next great promotion, contest, or giveaway.

We had a problem with our Classified Ads….as i tried to update the pages it all crashed (which has been an on-going battle with the Classifieds).  We have been working hard to get that back up and running.  Thanks for your patience.

We will not send our monthly email update this month, just to test the effectiveness of sending them.  It’s been a valuable connection point in the past, but the reality of people’s inbox filled with notes, updates, news, buisness, and spam has caused some diminishing results over time.  That feature will probably return next month after we review the traffic.

Thanks for your support.  Please don’t forget to add the Gameops.com Editor’s Blog to your RSS feeds (use the synication links on the right hand side)…as many of our readers know, that is the wave of the future as far as readers getting what they want from the web.

I will be back all month long right here, as many of you saw last month I have stepped up the blogs recently….a pattern I hope to continue.

Krazy GeorgeKrazy George: Two things really get me going. One is anyone, other than me, who claims to have invented The Wave; and the other is being beat out year after year in People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive Contest. Have these people never seen me?

George Henderson is Krazy George, the world’s most famous professional cheerleader. He’s the man who made the whole world stand up and cheer by creating The Wave. No one person, or group of people, has motivated more sports fans to support their team in such a loud way as Krazy George.

Gameops.com attempts to enter the mind of ‘The Krazy One’ for a light-hearted interview with the sexiest cheerleader in sports this month on Gameops.com.

Saginaw Spirit’s victory vs. Oshawa helps Comedy Central funnyman win bet

SAGINAW, Mich. - Late-night funnyman Stephen Colbert had a lot riding on Friday night’s Ontario Hockey League game won by the Saginaw Spirit, 5-4, over the Oshawa Generals.

The host of the satirical news program “The Colbert Report”, has thrown his support behind the Spirit in recent months after learning that the Michigan team had named its mascot Steagle Colbeagle the Eagle, as a tribute to him.

colbert.jpgColbert has since done some trash-talking about other OHL teams, particularly the Oshawa Generals.

After the Generals recently beat the Spirit on home turf, the Oshawa team held its annual teddy bear toss for charity. Colbert took mock offense and aired footage of the stunt, calling it “an obvious attempt to taunt me.”

In retaliation, he encouraged Saginaw fans to throw General Motors annual earnings reports on the ice during Friday’s game against the Oshawa Generals in Michigan. He even posted a downloadable link to the financial reports on his Web site.

That prompted Oshawa Mayor John Gray to issue a challenge to Colbert on a local radio station.

Gray said if the Oshawa Generals won the game, Colbert would’ve worn a Generals jersey for an entire show. However, with the Spirit win, Gray must declare Colbert’s birthday “Stephen Colbert Day” in Oshawa.

Colbert accepted the challenge on his show Thursday night, but said he wants his day to be declared on Gray’s birthday, March 20.

The MSNBC Story

As if the Spirit and the OHL hadn’t benefited enough from the Colbert pub…here’s more.
