June 2006

Start planning for July 7th, 2007 with this promotional nugget for 6/6/06.

The Potomac Nationals will host “Salute to 6’s Night.” The promotion will feature all kinds of 6-related activities and themes. The game will start at 6:06pm, all fans will receive a copy of the Sixth Amendment of the United States Constitution, and there will be special ticket discounts related to the number 6. For example, anyone with the name of the sixth President (John, Quincy, or Adams) and anyone who is 16, 26, 36, etc. years old or in their 60s will be able to purchase certain tickets for $6. (All fans 6-and-under will receive a free Grandstand ticket.) The team will celebrate the “Sixth Inning Stretch” instead of the traditional seventh inning activity. Additionally, music from the 60’s will be played throughout the game.  Fans are encouraged to come dressed in ’60s gear. Throughout the night, the video board will display various 6-related trivia. And if the Nationals score six or more runs, all fans in attendance will receive a voucher for a free ticket to any remaining game.  (from Team PR)

NationalsInitially I feared this was going to a bit satanic, so props to the team for finding a way to do this without playing into that aspect.  I also enjoyed the historic aspect for this particular team, whose team location and team name provide that clear connection.

The news doesn’t stop with the new content.  Gameops.com also introduces two new staff members.  Shantiel Hawkins has actually been around for about a year working on our finances, and we finally let people outside our offices meet her.  In addition, our new Sales Manager Isaac Wood makes his Gameops.com debut.

Gameops.com LogoFinally, we are moving.  We have been moving our offices over the last week and will complete the move Monday and Tuesday (June 5 and 6).   Since this includes moving our phone and computer service our offices will be closed on June 5th and 6th also.  Our regular office hours and reply times will resume on Wednesday.

So thanks in advance for your patience during our transition…and I hope you enjoy the June update and all it’s tantilizing trappings.
